San Diego Metropolitan Transit System
Obtain information about routes on line or by phone.
Your direct line for personal trip planning for Buses, Trolleys, and the Coaster in San Diego County is the Regional Transit
Information Office. If you're calling from:
 |
| Southern San Diego County |
|
(619) 233-3004 |
| Northern San Diego County |
|
1-800-266-6883 |
The San Diego region is full of places to go and ways to get there. Buses, trains and trolleys
criss-cross the region, making travel accessible and economical for commuters. Transit services in the metropolitan San Diego
area are provided by Chula Vista Transit, National City Transit, San Diego Transit, and San Diego Trolley.
Overall coordination of these services is the responsibility of the Metropolitan Transit Development
Board (MTDB). Together, these organizations make up the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS). The North County Transit District (NCTD) operates the Coaster commuter train and North County bus routes. A coordinated effort between these operators allows riders to use the same monthly passes on
a variety of routes, transfer from one line to another, get information from a central telephone center, and travel around
San Diego easily, comfortably and safely.
As a family, we share many things. For example, riders can easily transfer between the Bus and
the Trolley. Special seating areas on every Bus, Trolley and Coaster train are designated for disabled and senior riders,
who are welcome to ride at a reduced fare.
We schedule Bus and Trolley routes cooperatively to make getting where you're going as convenient
for you as possible. Our telephone information center is a regional one, with Bus, Trolley and Coaster schedules throughout
the county. Just one phone call and you'll have the information you need. Thanks for catching the Trolley, Coaster and Bus.
Thanks for riding around San Diego with us!
Read the Rider Alerts page for more information on services.
